A Shanklin man who crashed into parked cars in Shanklin just last month has been banned from the roads for 16 months after admitting failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
36-year-old Hasan Hasan, of Westhill Road in Shanklin, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court last Friday (2nd May).
On the evening of 14th April, Police were called with reports of a collision involving 3 vehicles on Landguard Road, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Officers arrived on scene to find a red Seat Leon had collided with a parked Citroen C3, which was subsequently shunted into the rear of a Mini Clubman.
At the scene, officers arrested Hasan for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Magistrates handed the 36-year-old a 16-month driving ban and fined him £276.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £110 surcharge fee.
Such a lenient ban, makes one wonder
who is paying for the damage to the
vehicles!
Surely £276.00 is not covering the cost of the
damages.
