Police are appealing for help to trace the driver of a black car which failed to stop following a collision with a teenage pedestrian in Cowes yesterday afternoon (Thrusday).
Officers were called to Baring Road, Cowes, shortly after 15:30 yesterday to reports of a collision between a car and a 15-year-old boy. The incident happened close to the junction with Crossfield Avenue.
The teenager sustained minor injuries in the incident and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital as a precaution.
The car, which is described as a small, black and low vehicle, failed to stop at the scene.
PC Neil Corby said:
“I am appealing for any witnesses who may have seen a small black vehicle in the area around the time of this collision.
“A young man has been left with injuries and I would like to identify the driver of this vehicle as a matter of urgency.”
