A Georgian-era former school on the Isle of Wight was one of 2 lots sold by Clive Emson as part of the latest online auction.

As previously reported by Island Echo, Vectis Hall was sold to Ryde Town Council for £125,000 prior to the auction.

The only lot to actually go under the hammer and sell was 21 Castle Road in Newport – a 3-bedroom terraced cottage which fetched £125,000 freehold.

A number of other lots failed to sell. Re-available is a 200 sqm commercial unit over 2 floors and a 1-bedroom flat at Corinthian Court, Cross Street, Shanklin. The 998-year lease dates from 1987. The guide price was £100,000+.

Currently let at £6,900 per annum, a 2-bedroom second-floor flat at 27F Holyrood Street, Newport was guided at £85-95,000, the property has a 999-year lease from 2009.

A 1-bedroom first-floor flat at Flat 3, 42 George Street, Ryde, was guided at £55-65,000; the 999-year lease dates from 1846.

Timers end on Wednesday 16th December for Clive Emson’s next regional online auction.

Lot entries close on Tuesday 24th November, with the catalogue online from Saturday 28th November.

Shame the house sold was painted when you look at the one next door with lovely brickwork.
