100,000 Islanders are now double vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the latest official figures from NHS England.
A total of 99,574 people had received both of their vaccinations as of Sunday (29th August), with around 1,000 more people visiting a local vaccination centre every week. It means that the number will now be in excess of 100,000.
Around 83% of the Island’s 16+ population is now fully protected with 107,831 Islanders having received at least 1 jab – that’s 89% of the over 16 population locally.
The news should fill local residents and businesses with confidence as it means 9 in 10 adults (16+) on the Isle of Wight have been vaccinated.
The Island is still below average for the number of cases being identified locally, but that means less and less with every passing week as the vast majority of Islanders are protected. To date, a total of 10,138 cases have been identified on the Island – around 14% of the overall population.
That didn’t take long lololol
Seen the latest public health England figures? Over two thirds of deaths of people over the age of 50 are double jabbed. Not half or the unvaccinated, two thirds double jabbed. So what was the point of having it. Sky news yesterday.
Yawn……….zzzz
Well done for distorting the truth! As the percentage of people with both jabs increases to 100% as will the percentage that die who have had both jabs. What is important, and something they talk about on sky each time. The death rate growth is no longer linked to the infection rate growth. Deaths are increasing at a very low rate compared to infections. That is the vaccine working! You have two ways to get protection from this virus. The very risky ‘catch it’ strategy, or, the much safer ‘get vaccinated’ strategy. The vaccine creates the same immune response as catching the virus, just without all the risk, discomfort and pain.
Moron. Utter moron. Keep believing all the hype you’re being fed. And keep your ‘safe vaccine’ you’ve got absolutely no idea about the long term side affects.
This is fantastic. The island is currently well below the national average. Despite the influx of holiday makers. The vaccine is allowing us to live a more normal life. I’m eager to get my third top up jab. I’m fighting this pandemic, not rolling over like the covidiot surrender monkeys. I want to stay at work not be at home half dead with covid or in a lock down. Having the vaccine means we don’t have lock downs. It’s that simple!
Funny how the countries and states (us) with the least lockdowns are actually doing better than the places that imposed them.
YOU will be at home half dead as you can still catch it lol
what a fool
