Firefighters have brought about a safe conclusion to a vehicle fire at a popular tourist hotspot in the West Wight this afternoon (Saturday).
1 appliance from Freshwater Fire Station was mobilised to Colwell Chine Road at around 13:15 following reports of a vehicle well alight.
It was soon discovered that the camper van had a gas cylinder on board and therefore a cordon was erected by Police in the interests of public safety.
The single crew worked hard to dowse the flames and extinguish the fire, whilst considering the risk of explosion.
