Kieron Flux, 18, was discovered by Police in gorges above La Daille this afternoon (Wednesday) after he was reported missing by his concerned family. Kieron had last been seen at around 01:30 on Tuesday morning as he left a bar where he had been drinking, prompting an extensive search for the youngster in Val-d’Isère, a region of the Rhône-Alpes in southeastern France.
After an unsuccessful search throughout Tuesday and into this morning, a body was spotted in an steep and isolated spot of the skiing resort. A helicopter was sent to recover the male body, which officials say matches that of missing Kieron Flux.
The popular teen, who attended Carisbrooke High School and more recently the Isle of Wight College, was on holiday with his father and family friends when the tragedy occurred. The experienced skier only arrived at the skiing resort on Sunday after travelling from the Island.

The Foreign Office have confirmed to Island Echo that they are aware of the death of a British National in France and they are providing assistance to the family at this difficult time.
