Hovertravel has once again been forced to suspend its cross-Solent service due to a technical issue.
Commuter services to and from the Isle of Wight have been hit this morning (Friday), due to the undisclosed fault.
The operator is currently only running a single craft on the Ryde-Southsea route due to Island Flyer being away for substantial maintenance at Griffon Hoverwork.
Solent Flyer – the remaining craft – has broken down several times over the past couple of weeks, resulting in significant disruption for workers, scholars and visitors alike.
An update is not expected until 08:45, but there is no guarantee that services will resume at that time.
Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service, which runs between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour.

BOVVER not bover?
The island is full of want to be english teachers,
who actually cares we know what they mean.
These craft have had nothing but technical issues since they came into service.
As a former commuter, before these arrived, the older craft rarely broke down and I don’t recall them cancelling as much for adverse weather.
Still thanks to our MPs this won’t behappening mu h longer, oh wait they are as ineffective as seldom seen Bob was!(allegedly)
Wightlink must be making a lot of money from Hovertravel right now.
Just like the old Floating Bridge, more reliable than the
new one.
I don’t know why companies waste money on changing
something that actually works.
It’s a lot less bovver than an hover
Lol
Seriously scrap all this decrepidid old machinery build a tunnel ,gods sake way overdue
