The inbred slur made against Isle of Wight residents is nothing new: 153 years ago, a magistrate aired the ‘general opinion’ that the cause of the increase of lunacy on the Island was the number of families intermarrying.
The magistrate Snowden Henry had made his remarks at a meeting of the Board of Guardians – who were responsible for administering the poor law – according to a newspaper report dated 19th June of that year. At this meeting, grave concern was expressed regarding the terribly large increase in lunacy.
The Board of Guardians learned that the cost of maintaining lunatics in the asylum at the time had risen to over £3,000 per annum (£462,000 in today’s values). Another member of the board – Mr Stratton – testified to the great increase in the incidence of lunacy during his 20-year connection with administering the poor law on the Isle of Wight.
In the early years of the 19th century, those with differing perceptions of reality were incarcerated in Carisbrooke Lunatic Asylum. In 1896, the 1st residential home for those with mental health issues was built at Whitecroft. The facility was closed in 1992 after the introduction of Care in the Community in the 1980s.
The ‘inbred’ aspersion on Island natives was repeated in the 21st century when David Hoare – the Head of Ofsted (responsible for assessing the quality of education in schools) – branded the Isle of Wight ‘a poor ghetto suffering from inbreeding’. In 2016, Hoare resigned due to the outcry over his insensitive remarks.
The term ‘lunatic asylum’ – in common usage in the 19th century – has now been replaced by the more politically correct terms psychiatric hospital and mental health hospital.

And there lies the mistake – they instigated care in the community, which by definition is a hand wringing lefty idea and where are we today – well, just look at the state of people hanging around public spaces drunk and being d icks.

Hitler had some bad ideas but eugenics wasn’t one of them? I think you should try to do some self reflecting if you really hate those less fortunate than you that much. Or perhaps look into what drives people into desperation and poverty in the first place and maybe attempt to address the problem rather than just spitting your poisonous contempt on the Internet.

They have kids because their lives are too chaotic and disorganised to think of little things like contraception.
If you get rid of benefits you will have the same number of kids who will end up being taken into care, which costs significantly more than the current benefits and more likely to turn to crime.
