The volunteer crew of Yarmouth RNLI came to the aid of a 35ft yacht run aground at Colwell Bay earlier this afternoon (Saturday).
The All Weather Lifeboat was requested to launch shortly before 14:15 to assist ‘Rampant’. Arriving on the scene just 15 minutes later, the smaller Y boat was deployed with two crew to assess the situation.
Once the yacht’s crew were checked, the lifeboat deployed a tow line before proceeding to pull the 35 footer off the ledge.
Once free, the yacht , with a very thankful crew, carried on to Cowes Yacht Haven .
The lifeboat was back in Yarmouth Harbour andready for service at 15:30.
