Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat went to the aid of a 31ft charter vessel with power failure yesterday afternoon (Saturday).
The volunteer crew of the Severn-class lifeboat were paged to launch by Solent Coastguard at 16:12 following reports of a vessel in difficulty 1.5 miles South West of The Needles.
Once on scene it was discovered that the Yarmouth-based vessel ‘Alaminta’ was unable to proceed under her own power and therefore a tow was established.
The casualty vessel, operated by Black Rock Charters & Fishing, was towed back to her home port by Yarmouth Lifeboat.
