In the Wessex Premier, 12th-placed Vics face 2nd-placed Hamble Club at Beatrice Avenue.
Vics groundsman Trev Lacey says of the prospects of the game going ahead:
“There is a pitch inspection at 08:00 am Saturday morning, so it will be down to a referee and his wisdom.”
UPDATE 09:05: East Cowes Victoria v Hamble Club is OFF.
Also in the Wessex Premier, the Yachtsmen – who currently lie in 15th place – make the long journey to Dorset to play 4th-placed Portland United.
Manager Mark Woodhouse says of the fixture:
“Portland are a top club, with great integrity. They won’t make us travel if its not possible. We are all hoping this rain eases up so we can get back to playing.”

UPDATE 09:00: The pitch at Portland United has been declared playable and the game is ON.
In Wessex Division 1, 10th-placed Newport entertain top club Colden Common.
Port are 21 points behind Colden Common but have played 9 games fewer. Were they to win all their games in hand, the County Town club would have a 6-point lead over today’s opponents. However, manager Joe Butcher is not optimistic about the game being played.
Joe says of his side’s prospects:
“We are only half way through the season with no free Tuesday nights left and that’s with no more games off.”
UPDATE 09:00: Newport v Colden Common has fallen victim to the weather and the game is OFF.
One match certain to go ahead on the Isle of Wight is the Harwoods Division 1 match between Cowes Sports Reserves and Oakfield on the 3G pitch at Cowes Enterprise College.
