The best beers in the South East of England have been revealed with the announcement of this year’s SIBA Independent Beer Awards 2023 – and the Island’s Wight Knuckle Brewery has been crowned a winner. The SIBA Bottle & Can Independent Beer Awards 2023 are judged by a fleet of expert judges from across the UK, with beers marked against internationally recognized style guides for the different beer award categories – looking at appearance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste and saleability. The Bembridge-based brewery’s Pale Ale (4.0%) fought off stiff competition from drinks from up and down the country to bag the top prize. Neil Walker, SIBA Head of Comms praised this year’s winners:

The expert judging panel only give awards where deserved, so the winners listed really are the very best beers in the region and would make superb Christmas gifts for the beer-loving person in your life.”
