A Welsh man has denied a host of historical child sexual assault charges allegedly committed against a child under the age of 14.
Paul Dewarne, of Royal Oak Drive in Newport, South Wales, appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (4th March) via video link.
The 59-year-old entered not guilty pleas to 4 counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 years and 4 counts of gross indecency with a boy under 16 years of age.
All of Dewarne’s alleged offences occurred during a 3 month period – between June and September 2001, in Newport here on the Isle of Wight.
Due to the severity of the charges, the case was immediately sent up to the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Dewarne was handed unconditional bail ahead of her next appearance on 7th April 2025.
