An Isle of Wight man who has gone above and beyond to help keep the Waterside Pool in Ryde going throughout the pandemic has been rewarded by the ‘Room to Reward’ hidden hero scheme.
Peter Taylor was put forward by the staff at Waterside Pool as he volunteers a lot of his time to support the management of the centre, as well as managing the budget and finances.
Room To Reward rewards volunteers with a short stay at a hotel of their choice by making use of unsold rooms across the country.
Due to COVID, the amount of work around finances, budgeting and grant applications has been colossal in order to keep the centre open.
Additionally, Peter often goes out of his way to praise and support the staff.
As a result of his hard work, the team felt it would be lovely to give something back to him and show him how grateful they are for his efforts.
