There has been yet another delay in the sentencing of an East Cowes man who breached a restraining order against an Isle of Wight councillor, in a case relating to offences that occurred in February and March 2022.
A warrant has now been issued for Simon Wheeler, of Albany Road, after he failed to turn up for court on Friday (14th April).
The court heard Wheeler had suffered a medical episode.
In March, he was found guilty of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Wheeler also ‘deliberately’ twice breached his restraining order against Karl Love, magistrates found.
He had been ordered to have no direct or indirect contact with the Isle of Wight councillor.
The court was told Wheeler’s hostile behaviour towards probation officers meant a pre-sentence report was not produced for today.
Barry Arnett, representing Wheeler, said he had intended to ask for an adjournment.

This man needs to be detained at His Majesty’s Pleasure, he is not going to improve as his past history has shown, just likes making the news. Obviously has a serious problem with life.
Medical episode???
No doubt brought on by the stress of being caught and the possible sentencing?
I don’t think he was feeling the love.
