Ventnor 1sts returned to winning ways with a 4-wicket win in a rain-affected game away to Hambledon.
After losing the toss and being put into bat, Hambledon reached the respectable total of 270 for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Justin Behrens top scored for Hambledon with 120 off 109 balls before being caught by Blackman off the bowling of Attrill. Rob Snell was the pick of the Ventnor bowlers with 4-52. Overseas professional Dineth Thimodya took a brace of wickets for a very economical 18 runs.
A rain-affected game led to a reduced target for Ventnor. Opener Dineth Thimodya led the charge for the South Wight side, scoring 113 runs in 84 balls, including 9 4s and 6 6s. The Islanders reached the target set in the 36th over for the loss of 6 wickets.

Portsmouth set a modest total of 173 all out. Hugh Calloway was the best of the Ventnor bowlers, taking 5 wickets for just 17 runs. Thomas Southcott (2-12) and Dominic Brihmani (2-26) both took a brace of wickets.
Ventnor reached the rain-affected target required for the loss of 3 wickets. Hugh Calloway grabbed the most runs for the South Wight side with a knock of 42 runs not out.

In Hampshire Division 1, Ryde’s game away to Bramshaw was abandoned due to rain after the Island side had reached 269 all out in their innings with Ben Baker hitting 137 runs.
Ryde 2nds beat United Services Portsmouth by 5 wickets at Harding Shute to climb to 5th place in the Division 4 (South) table in another rain-affected game.
US Portsmouth won the toss and elected to bat. reaching a total of 204 all out in the 45th over. Jenin Jose (3-34) and Mark Tuckwell (3-40) were both treble wicket-takers for Ryde with Ian Hailes (2-22) bagging a brace.
Ryde managed a total 148/5 in reply. Captain Robert Hobbs top-scored with 57.

In Hampshire Division 3 (South), Shanklin & Godshill suffered an ignominious 182-run defeat at the hands of Waterlooville 2nds at Westhill.
Waterlooville reached 230/6 in their 45 overs. Shanklin collapsed to 48 all out in reply.
