The Royal Hotel in Ventnor has once again been recognised as one of the top 3 restaurants in the South of England, following success at the Beautiful South Tourism Awards held in Brighton on Saturday (9th December).
The prestigious ceremony, hosted at The Grand Hotel, celebrated outstanding hospitality venues across the region. Despite strong competition, The Royal maintained its place in the top tier of the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category for the fourth consecutive year.
Now under new ownership, the hotel has continued its legacy of excellence, retaining its four-silver-star AA hotel status and long-standing 2 AA Rosette award for culinary quality – an accolade it has held for over 30 years.
The Royal’s new seasonal menus, including a relaxed lunch offering, Sunday lunch, and afternoon tea, showcase high-quality Isle of Wight produce. These changes reflect a continued commitment to both innovation and local sourcing.
Mohamed Bathich, Owner of The Royal Hotel, has said:
“We are proud to have won in The Beautiful South’s Restaurant of the Year category for a fourth year in a row.
“The dedication and skill of The Royal’s kitchen team, led by Head Chef Jacob Gough, as well as our restaurant service team, continue to create highly memorable dining experiences daily for all of our guests.
“We are delighted that The Royal Hotel continues to represent the Isle of Wight as a destination for food lovers at such prestigious awards.”
The Royal Hotel remains a popular choice for special occasions, known for its high standards in both accommodation and dining.

We have been several times for an evening meal the food is good but
the portions need a microscope.
That is the problem with such places,
after the meal you need a takeaway.
