Additional funding has been secured for Ventnor’s Route 31 bus, with extra journeys being put in place to support residents in Bonchurch, St Lawrence and Ventnor. The Ventnor Town Council-funded minibus service has been in operation for many years, serving areas that are too narrow for conventional buses. With the closure of Leeson Road continuing to hamper access to Ventnor, following December’s major landslide, the decision has now been taken to ramp up the offering. The service will continue to operate on its current route, serving St Lawrence and Bonchurch Village via Ventnor Boots. However, there will now be additional journeys on Tuesdayd and Fridays, with 4 journeys on Saturday mornings too. A spokesperson for Ventnor Town Council has said:
“We hope that this will support the transport needs of Bonchurch residents, following the closure of Leeson Road and be an improved service for St Lawrence residents”.

Please could we have extra runs for the number 39 for Newport residents? Buses only run Monday – Friday and the last one finishes just before 2pm which is no good for visiting at the Hospice or for Summerfields school.
Where is Ventnor Boots ? Is it, by any chance, near Ventnor Boats ?
Never mind extra buses , open leeson Road with temporary traffic lights on that small area that is affected. Get ventnor back on the map again then think about buses
