Emerson Tattersall scored 10 goals at Watcombe Bottom as Ventnor put 24 goals past 9-man High Park yesterday afternoon.
The Ventnor captain has now netted 26 times in 7 games at an average of well over 3 goals a game.
The score was 15-1 at half time. The other Ventnor scorers were Liam Harper (4), Sonny Mulholland (3), Euan Sargent (2), Ben Harvey (2), Ant Kettell (2) and Harry Mulholland.
Victory sees Ventnor advance to the next round of the Isle of Wight Senior (Gold) Cup.
After the game, High Park’s Stuart Woodmore said:
“We tried to pull out this cup as we were allowed to 2 seasons ago, but after so much back and forth with the FA regarding rules, we were forced to send 9 players there to field a side.
“I want to apologise to those 9 lads. We are trying to do what’s best for our teams with injuries and players leaving because they haven’t got the b******* to play at that level.
“It’s no excuse. We will turn it around next week.”
Ventnor’s Gary Gee replied:
“No need to apologise. Your lads were a credit. They never got their heads down, kept going and scored a very good goal.
“Your keeper was a star – played on one leg.”
WEST WIGHT GO TOP OF DIV 1 BY PUTTING 14 PAST OSBORNE COBURG

West Wight are top of Harwoods Division 1 after putting 14 goals past Osborne Coburg at Victoria Rec.
Gareth Bricknell netted 4 times before being taken off in the 57th minute, Josh Daley scored a hat trick, Chris Elliott, Casey Tyrell and Liam Blythe all bagged braces with Jason Moore only managing a single gola.
West Wight are now 2 points clear of W&B at the top of the table although the Sandy Lane side have a game in hand over the league leaders.
East Cowes Victoria Reserves have gone top of Division 2 by putting 7 past Newport Reserves at Beatrice Avenue. Maca Barnes scored a hat trick for Vics, Ollie Sweatman bagged a brace and James Cheek and Bubacarr Touray both grabbed a goal apiece. Vics now lead Sandown & Lake on goal difference, but the 2nd-placed side have a game in hand.
W&B ADVANCE IN THE HAMPSHIRE CUPS

Both Whitecroft & Barton sides advanced to the next stage of the competition – sadly, the only Isle of Wight sides to do so.
W&B Firsts came back from a goal behind to beat Rushmoor Community in the Hampshire Trophy at Sandy Lane, with Fin Kalaker and Sam Cant scoring for the home side.
Substitute Rob Taylor grabbed a last minute goal for the reserves in the Hampshire Vase as they won on the road against Horndean United Reserves.
Northwood SJ were unlucky to have been knocked out of the Hampshire Trophy 3-4 on penalties at the Community Club after drawing 1-1 with Headley United in full time.
Northwood’s scorer was Harry Bell. The Island side missed a penalty and played most of the game with 10 men after having a player sent off in the first half.
Oakfield and Shanklin were both knocked out of the Vase by Hampshire League opposition despite home advantage.
