Ventnor Hurricanes won the Isle of Wight Under-15 Cup by beating Ryde Rattlers by 7 wickets at Steephill on Wednesday evening.
Ryde won the toss and elected to bat. The Rattlers made 129 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Rafe Hawkins top scored for Ryde with a knock of 30. He was assisted by Kensei Parker (26), George Potter (16) and Dylan Hailes (18 not out).
2 Ventnor bowlers picked up braces of wickets: George Chalesworth (2-11) and Harrison McQuillan (2-18). James Curtis (1-7) and Oscar Purser (1-14) took a wicket apiece.
Ventnor surpassed the Ryde total for the loss of 3 wickets with 5 balls to spare. Oliver Cheeseman was the Ventnor hero, making an unbeaten half-century before retiring. He was supported by Thomas Southcott (26) and Joseph Hill (22 not out).
Kensei Parker (2-22) took a brace of wickets for Ryde. George Potter (1-19) was the other wicket taker.
