Two vehicles have collided in Cowes this afternoon (Monday) resulting in the closure of a main through road.
Emergency services were called to Newport Road shortly before 13:00 following reports of a road traffic collision.
It is understood the crash has occurred between a car and a Royal Mail postal van near to the town centre end of the road.
Paramedics are in attendance alongside Police, however the assistance of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has not been requested.
Motorists are advised to find an alternative route, diverting via Mill Hill Road.
UPDATE @ 14:02 – One female has been taken to hospital this afternoon following the collision between a Kia and a Fiat post van.
The road has now reopened.
