UPDATED: A vehicle has been involved in a road traffic incident in Newchurch this evening (Tuesday), coming to rest on its roof and blocking the through road between Knighton and Apse Heath.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at Langbridge at around 21:20 following reports of a single vehicle collision.
It is understood the male driver of the red car has been assisted from the vehicle by members of the public and is said to be in shock. The contents of the car has been spread across the carriageway.
Police have closed the road between Knighton Shute and Harbors Lake Road whilst the incident is cleared, although access to property is maintained.
UPDATE @ 00:03 – One male has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following tonight’s incident, Police have confirmed.
A Red Ford Fiesta S was involved in the incident near to Barletts Service Station and has now been recovered by Stag Lane Motors, allowing the road to reopen.
