A pedestrian has escaped injury after being involved in a collision with a van in Sandown this morning (Friday).
Police and ambulance crews were called to Albert Road off the High Street at around 11:20 after a silver Ford Transit van collided with a pedestrian.
Thankfully, the casualty has not sustained any serious injuries and has not been required to go to hospital for treatment.
A large dent has been left in the bonnet of the van, which has not been recovered.
Island Echo understands the male driver of the vehicle has been arrested and taken to Newport Police on suspicion of currently unknown offences.
The road was closed for a time but has since re-opened.
