An unmanned 14ft sailing dinghy, adrift in mid-Solent, became the focus of attention for Cowes RNLI’s volunteer this afternoon (Friday). After launching at 15:33, the lifeboat crew found the dinghy well off Fishbourne. The dinghy, which had taken on a lot of water, appeared to be linked to a Portsmouth sailing club. It was given a slow alongside tow to Cowes Harbour, where it was taken to Shepards Marina with the assistance of the Harbour Launch.

Maybe it came from France.
Where’s the illegals that were probably in it ??
Probably washing cars or cutting up Kebab meat
Lol
Cue the xenophobic clap trappers who didn’t read the words….
Yep, the the far right press has the uneducated so riled up they think everything is due to migrants.
Hardly xenophobia given the amount of illegal immigrants flooding into the country by any means.
Karen, if you are a supporter of immigrants/immigration, will you be accepting these lovely people into your own home, feeding and clothing them at your expense?
Or will you be expecting the people who pay taxes to support them as well as yourself??
Perhaps it has a buggy full already in the family with the sperm donee long gone. A lot have now. Then costing us even more. Looking at other countries it seems that our grandparents and earlier generations may have been right to keep certain people apart for any advantage to ordinary people seem hard to see now.
Was that a reference to me? Do try to keep up dear, you’re beginning to sound deranged.
Quick lesson for you to focus on before delirium sets in. People are qualified as ‘he’, ‘she’ or ‘they’. ‘It’ relates to inanimate objects. There is no word, ‘donee’, it’s donor. Had there been such a word, it would refer to the recipient of sperm wouldn’t it? And I’m still here. Maybe you don’t know, so we’ll let that one pass. I have told you before, but understanding your recent dementia I’ll remind you; my offspring are all successful, independent adults and would not appreciate trying to cram their backsides into a buggy, not even to please you. They did laugh when I told them though. And lastly dear, you might just want to check your ancestry.
You know the vast majority of immigration is legal, right?
You know it’s because there are too few British people willing to do the jobs that need doing, right?
Net legal migration is just under 700,000, and gross migration is over 1.1 million.
Compared to that the 37,000 asylum seekers that arrived in 2023 is peanuts.
Now, pay attention to the difference between net and gross migration. That means 400,000 Brits are leaving the UK every year. 10 times the number of boat people coming in. And these are our best and brightest engineers, doctors, scientists and creatives.
Oh, and most of the asylum seekers want to work but aren’t allowed to. So you can tuck that little prejudice where the sun doesn’t shine, too.
Very well said!
As if! When teacher said ‘pay attention’ they were the ones picking their noses.
I’m still waiting for one, just one, to say ok, didn’t know that.
Telling them that it costs £1.8m to send one failed asylum seeker to Rwanda sent them into a right old spin. I’ve yet to mention just how much future tax revenue we’re likely to lose out on by not investing in them as tax payers seeing as so many Brits have left due to Brexit. Think I’ll leave that for another day. Too much for them to digest in one chunk. It’s like trying to spoon-feed infants.
Thank you for your service. An actual, normal comment on this site.
IT WAS AN ADRIFT BOAT FROM PORTSMOUTH!!!!!
Or those who abhor the cost which affects us, and the future damage to our beautiful countryside as ever more homes are needed with the subsequent destruction of such. So then having the knock on effect of destroying food and homes for our wildlife too.
Add more crime, more cars, more landfill, more sewage, more energy needed, longer hospital, dentists and doctors waiting time AND WHAT IS TO LIKE for normal people?
