UPDATED: Two vehicles have been involved in a collision on the outskirts of Apse Heath this afternoon.
A White Citoren Belingo van has suffered extensive damage after it collided with a Silver Ford Monadeo outside the Honnor and Jeffrey garden centre on the A3056 Newport Road between Apse Heath and Lake.
Emergency services, including the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, are currently attending the scene with traffic reported to be heavy in the area.
Motorists are advised to find an alternative route while the incident is cleared and the vehicles are recovered.
UPDATE @ 15:58 – No one has been injured in this afternoon’s collision according to a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson.
The collision left an oil spill on the carriageway, which was successfully cleared by Island Roads.
Both vehicles have now been recovered.
