Isle of Wight man, Damon Wilkins who denied committing arson with intent to endanger life in Ryde last year, will stand trial in July.
Wilkins, 26, of no fixed abode, denied a single charge of arson with intent to endanger life when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court back in November 2024.
The incident in question took place on Saturday 21st September at an address on Ryde’s Bettesworth Road.
The blaze, which caused heat and smoke damage throughout the home, was quickly brought under control by firefighters from Ryde and Newport. Wilkins remains in Police custody.
His Honour Judge Melville KC adjourned the case for trial. Wilkins will next appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 9th July for what is anticipated to be a 2-day trial.
