Middle Road in Carisbrooke has been closed this afternoon (Friday) after Police and Ambulance crews were called to a medical emergency.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are at the scene on Middle Road having been called at around 16:30 alongside colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
It is understood that a medical emergency occurred causing a 2 vehicle collision and that 1 casualty has been assisted by paramedics and conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
Police have blocked the road at the junction with the Waverley roundabout.
The road is expected to remain closed for the time being.
UPDATE @ 17:30 – The road has now re-opened.
UPDATE @ 17:55 – A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said that the casualty taken to St Mary’s Hospital was a man who sustained minor injuries.

Could the casualty have been move quickly when no critical condition was noticed?..us islanders are getting upset with the local emergency response..and failing for providing unto our infrastructure and transport needs..this is how new peoples should not come to our island..we don’t need more people here clogging up our already overwhelmed infrastructure..we have enough people here!..please don’t come here and ruin our island
