Renovation works at Totland Bay Pier have progressed well and a new video shows the remarkable transformation since the project started last year.
The project to restore Totland Bay Pier, which was reduced to just its shell back in December 2021 has made stunning progress and looks to be nearing completion.
Last month, plans proposed by mainland developer Wooldridge Group to turn the recently built Bay Café into holiday lets were refused much to the relief of locals and Totland Parish Council who had objected to the idea.
There has been a café at the pier since the 1940s which has long been an attraction for locals and visitors alike.
Island Echo has previously explored the fascinating history of the pier which goes back to the 19th Century and the new incarnation now looks ready for the 21st Century.

Brilliant, glad they didn’t get permission for holiday let’s?? Us locals don’t want everything to be touristy!
