UPDATED: The Met Office are warning of heavy and thundery showers on Thursday as they issue a yellow weather warning for the Isle of Wight.
Unseasonable torrential downpours are expected in places and lightning is said to be a potential hazard between the hours of 06:00 and 23:50 on Thursday, with as much as 50mm of rainfall expected.
Surface water flooding is likely.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY @ 10:30 – The Met Office have this morning increased the likelihood of bad weather and have extended the time period to between 01:00 and 23:59 on Thursday.
The weather warning has been to extended to include Friday as well, however the worst of the weather is expected to have cleared north by Friday morning.
Should the likelihood increase again, the weather warning will increase to Amber.
