UPDATED: Three vehicles have collided on Horsebridge Hill, Parkhurst this morning (Monday), leading to lengthy tailbacks in the area.
A Vauxhall and a Citroen have collided near the junction of Hogan Road and in turn a third vehicle, a Volkswagen, has collided into the rear of the Citroen.
Traffic is at a standstill with significant delays between Newport and Cowes. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
No one is believed to have been seriously injured. An officer from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is in attendance, alongside Police.
UPDATE @ 09:45 – Two ambulances are now in attendance at the incident, around 25 minutes after it occurred. A total of 4 people are said to be injured.
The road remains blocked.
UPDATE @ 10:45 – The incident has now been cleared and traffic is flowing in both directions.
