UPDATED: A series of road traffic collisions have caused traffic tailbacks this morning (Tuesday) at three notorious junctions.
The first collision occurred shortly before 08:20 on the A3056 at Arreton at the junction with Downend Road, where a Silver Ford Fiesta collided with the side of a white Ford Transit van.
One female has been taken to hospital, however is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.
The second collision, which occurred shortly after, involved at least two vehicles at Smallbrook Roundabout, with debris having been left on the road surface.
Both incidents are now being cleared, however traffic remains heavy in both locations and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
A third collision has now taken place on The Downs at the junction with Knighton Shute. It is understood at least two vehicles are involved with the road partially blocked. Motorists are advised to avoid the area, if possible.
A Subaru and a Rover have been involved in the incident and the vehicles have been cleared to the side of the carriageway.
No one is believed to have been seriously injured in any of the collisions.
