THOUSANDS of people have this evening missed out on watching the exclusive Thursday night camping acts as traffic remains at a standstill, over 12 hours since the troubles began.
The Stranglers, Howard Jones and Primal Scream have all played their sets at the Seaclose site while festival-goers and Island residents suffer up to 12 hours in their cars.
Island Echo left Ryde for the site at 15:40 this afternoon and after collecting our passes at 17:00, we are still in traffic delays leading into the car park.
The Big Top was temporarily closed due to safety fears following high winds, which also suspended Hovertravel’s cross-Solent crossings.
The rain has eased off but the ground remains a mud bath as cars continue to enter the Festival car parks.
Meanwhile, cars remain ushered on Southsea common while they wait to board the Wightlink ferry to Fishbourne.
Many revelers have expressed their anger and disappointment at the poor organisation of traffic management this year.
