44-year-old Angie Holroyd has been handed a 17-month driving ban after being caught driving erratically whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Magistrates heard on Tuesday how the mum-of-2, previously of Rew Street in Cowes, was caught drink driving on Foxes Road, Newport on 28th April this year.
Police stopped Holroyd’s Ford Focus after witnessing erratic driving, with the vehicle going across to the wrong side of the road on a zebra crossing. She failed the roadside breathe test and later blew 62 at the Police station.
The court also heard from prosecutor Rhys Evans that just 4 days prior to this offence, Holroyd had been caught stealing £213.50 of goods from Sainsbury’s. All of the items were recovered.
Defending, Mr Keel said that his client suffers from depression and Crohns Disease and had some issues with drugs. He explained that she has since reached out to Inclusion and is now in stable accommodation at a hotel.
Magistrates handed down a 17-month driving ban and fined Angie Holroyd £200, with £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.
