The Price Is Wight – the daily deals website for discovering and sharing great things to do across the Isle of Wight – is celebrating its 10th birthday today (Thursday).
The business, which offers unbeatable deals on the best things to do, see, visit, eat and buy on the Island and beyond, was launched on 2nd September 2011.
Having started with just 435 subscribers, TPIW now boasts a database of over 70,000 Islanders and 65,000 mainlanders – and continues to grow.
The 4-strong team – Karyn, Alan, Kerstine and Faye – have achieved incredible results in the last decade, delivering great experiences, goods and getaways on a daily basis to their dedicated customers.
Founder Karyn Carson explains:
“We started all those years ago by sending out one deal three times a week. Now we are sending out up to four deals a day, seven days a week and have over 120 deals on the website at any given time. The business has also grown to become a household name on the Island.
“We genuinely love what we do and are proud of what The Price Is Wight has achieved, all thanks to the lovely people and businesses across our fabulous Island. Our success and growth over the past ten years would not have been possible without the support of Islanders, who wholeheartedly embraced our passion for discovering the best things to do, see, eat and buy across this wonderful Island.
“Sadly, only about 30% of small businesses survive for this long. It has been what can only be described as a rollercoaster 18 months for everyone – including ourselves at The Price Is Wight. Like many we were forced to change, develop and adapt in a bid to keep moving forward with positivity. However, we truly believe our beautiful Island will thrive over the forthcoming months – which is very exciting for us all.”
TPIW has worked with hundreds of Island-based businesses – helping them grow and market themselves in a different way to the norm. Popular deals normally revolve around beauty, hair, food, spas, entertainment, shopping and family attractions. TPIW is also an official ticketing agent for the Isle of Wight Festival.
“For the past ten years TPIW has championed the Island and those living and working here, and we will continue to do so.
“All of the businesses we work with have never experienced a time like this. There is light, but they continue to need loyal customers now more than ever, so please keep helping them keep our wonderful Island alive.”
