The team at The Boathouse in Seaview are celebrating after being awarded not only an AA Rosette for culinary excellence but a silver 4-star Inn rating for their accommodation too. The double award win follows a recent visit by an AA inspector to the Inns of Distinction group pub at Springvale, which included an overnight stay. It is further recognition for The Boathouse after the UK Good Pub Guide announced them as a previous Isle of Wight Dining Pub of the Year winner, and comes after very testing times for the hospitality industry on the Island. A spokesperson for The Boathouse has said:
“This achievement is testament to the dedication of all of the staff here, the inspiration of Joel Yearsley our Executive Chef to ensure that all produce is produced in house and for our FOH manager Charlotte Barton’s efforts to ensure the team are dedicated to offer consistent and friendly attentive service”.
Better than the Fishbourne Inn then. I thought they were all supposed to be the same? Or similar at least.
Well done, very well deserved. I dined there the other week and the food was outstanding.
Seriously!! They must have got the inspector on a good day.
Wow! I went there waited 20 mins to be served, gave up and left! Man in the picture was on phone whole time. We were the only ones in there – I wonder why?
