Freshwater Independent Lifeboat welcomed their new sponsors Solent Spirit to the boathouse at Freshwater Bay during a recent last training session.
The small-batch rum producer, established earlier this year, craft a white and spiced rum across the Solent in Hampshire. It is sold locally on the Island, as well as around the Solent shores and nationally too.
As part of their wish to create long-lasting and impactful social value, as their first initiative, Solent Spirit has provided all of Freshwater’s crew and volunteers with smart new polo and technical T-shirts.
Chairman Rob McLaren and Senior Coxswain Tony Moore welcomed Patrick Heaps and Matthew Iles, the co-owners of Solent Spirit. After being shown around the 2 lifeboats and introduced to the crew, they were treated to a hearty BBQ breakfast.
Patrick Heaps of Solent Spirit said:
“It’s a real pleasure and a privilege to be able to support Freshwater Independent Lifeboat and the remarkable work they do on this beautiful stretch of the Isle of Wight.”
Rod Adams our Principle Fundraiser added:
“We look forward to a long lasting and meaningful relationship in the future.”
