A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after he ran away from Police in Sandown last night (Tuesday).
It was just gone 21:00 that officers conducted a stop on a vehicle on Avenue Road, close to The Broadway Garage.
The situation quickly developed when the driver exited the vehicle and attempted to run away from officers, who gave pursuit towards Tamar Close.
The driver was soon arrested after he allegedly kicked and punched the arresting officers.
A quantity of suspected Class A drugs was located nearby.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 21-year-old man from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and common assault of an emergency worker.
He remains in custody currently whilst enquiries continue.
Whats the point..
It is shocking the way these numpties think
they can assault police officers.
Instant imprisonment is needed for such individuals
if these sort of people don’t respect law and order
what chance does society have.

Fully agree. Unless they are given a harsh sentence they will think they can do as they like, suspended sentences are seen as a non-punishment.
At 21 he is already on a downward spiral.
