A 28-year-old man who was stopped by Police in Brading yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) remains in custody on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. At around 16:15, officers stopped a BMW that was travelling along Morton Road – near Yarbridge. Both the driver and the vehicle were searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and suspected Class A drugs were seized from the car. Subsequently, the driver in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. He remains in custody at Newport Police Station at this time. UPDATE – The 28-year-old has been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
