UPDATED: Police have arrested a man following a pursuit through the streets of Pan Estate this morning (Sunday).

At around 09:00 officers began their chase of a Ford Focus down through Furrlongs, along Robin Hood Street and up Highfield Road. It’s there that the driver dumped the vehicle and made off on foot.

A local dog unit was sent to the rear of residential properties to locate the wanted male.

An arrest has since been made with 1 male taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.

The vehicle has been recovered.

UPDATE @ 11:33 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a 24-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He remains in Police custody at this time.
