Wightlink has announced cancellations on its cross-Solent service between Yarmouth and Lymington affecting travellers this weekend.
The ferry firm says that the cancellations are necessary due to the absence of an essential member of staff.
The affected sailings are on the 17th October and include the following departure times:
From Yarmouth:
- 08:30
- 10:45
- 13:05
From Lymington:
- 07:30
- 09:45
- 12:00

This poor essential member is off very regularly. Hope he’s not too unwell. Still suggest he sees occupational health. He must single handedly cost poor Shitelink a fortune.
Clearly they are looking to close this route down. Which is why we MUST have a government run lifeline for the island and not be at the mercy of the accounts at shitelink.
Sounds like they could not fill up the ferry ,hence the reason for the cancellations .a fixed link is what we now need
Was the same 2 weeks ago, excuses or they need more staff, moving forward a bridge or tunnel would resolve travel problems
It’s ok because the vocal minority that moved here to live on an island, isolated and devoid of any services, are getting their wish. Meanwhile everyone else who grew up here can go and whistle.
