Organisers of the Isle of Wight Festival have announced that this year’s theme will be the Summer Solstice. Flower crowns, fairy wings and midsummer folklore are expected to inspire the fancy dress at 2024’s event, which gets underway on the longest day of the year – Thursday 20th June. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year – and the shortest night. The position of the rising or setting sun stands still in its movement along the horizon and is at its highest point in the sky. With less than 3 months to go until the gates open, anticipation is building – and now festival revellers can begin curating their costumes for the 4-day, fun-filled event. The Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys and Green Day are all set to headline this year’s Isle of Wight Festival with other acts including Jessie J, Natalie Imbruglia, S Club, Scouting for Girls, Keane, Simple Minds, Beverley Night, McFly, Crowded House, The Darkness and more. Tickets are available through The Price is Wight at https://www.thepriceiswight.co.uk/product/full-payment-iow-festival-2024/. The timing and location for the annual fancy dress competition will be revealed nearer the time.

I’d have thought capitalism might have been a better theme. Charge as much as you can for everything.
