Chamber of Commerce members – and the wider Island community – are being invited to the Grand Final of the Isle of Wight’s Young Enterprise company programme, where 12 student teams will put their presentation skills to the test. The Young Enterprise Company Programme is a competition between student teams to create, launch and run a trading business for the academic year. There are milestone events such as Dragons Den (in November and February), where teams can earn investment for their business idea and several retail trading events, where teams sell to the public. At the Grand Final on Tuesday 30th April, to be held at the Island Riding Centre in Newport, the 12 competing teams will run trade stalls between 09:00-10:00, followed by a formal presentation. It’s during this presentation segment that they will explain how their business was set up and traded through the current academic year. Ed-WISE is inviting as many people as possible to this free event, from across all sectors. Ed-WISE wants the students to tell their stories to as many people as possible, an experience which will have a positive impact on their development. To confirm your attendance, register here.
