Steyne Road, Bembridge has been closed today (Tuesday) from its junction with Mill Road to its junction with Oakside Gardens for a distance of 146 metres.
This is to enable Southern Gas Networks (SGN) to carry out works to carry out emergency works.
The diversion will be via Foreland Road, High Street, Church Road, Sherbourne Street & Mill Road in both directions.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.
The Temporary Traffic Regulations Order (TTRO) has been put in place from 08:38 hours on 3rd March 2020, for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is
sooner.
Southern Vectis buses are also on diversion for the duration of the closure.
“Diversions are in place on the 8 because of an emergency road closure by SGN.
“Buses can not serve Steyne Road and passengers are asked to make their way to Crossways, Forelands Rd, Walls Rd or Lane End stops.”

Been closed all day, NO ONE working there at all, and only half the road has a hole, so traffic IF barrier removed could still be used.
