UPDATED: The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow across the South of England on Thursday, including here on the Isle of Wight.

As rain move eastwards on Thursday, forecasters say it may turn to snow in places. Whilst this is unlikely, there is a small chance of snow settling with disruption to road, rail and air services, as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities. Associated heavy rain and strong winds may prove additional hazards.

Local forecaster Jamie Russell of Isle of Wight Weather says it is unlikely to be more than just a few light flurries here, but that next week’s upcoming weather could prove interesting for the Isle of Wight.
