Firefighters from Newport, Shanklin and Ventnor responded to Wroxall this morning (Saturday) after concerns were raised about smoke inside a property.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident on St Martin’s Road at 10:06 after a care worker spotted smoke inside a residential flat.
Upon arrival firefighters discovered that cooking fumes were to blame for the alert.
Crews have since left the scene.
