Smallbrook Lane will remain open to motorists in one direction only over the festive period, Island Roads has confirmed.
It was originally planned that all traffic restrictions in the area would be removed between 24th December and 4th January, but that is no longer the case.
All other roads approaching Smallbrook Lane are now open in both directions, including Carters Road. However, 3-way temporary traffic lights remain in force.
Traffic can only travel up Smallbrook Lane (east) towards Westridge.
For the past few weeks, utility companies have been redirecting their services so the new roundabout layout can be built next year. One element of this utility work requires the diversion of BT Openreach infrastructure. It was originally planned that BT would carry out works in the area from Monday 13th to Friday 17th, but it was announced that the work was delayed and would take place from Friday 17th until Tuesday 21st December.
The scheme is set to continue until April 2022.
