Shedfest – an event organised by the Island’s ‘Shed’ members – is heading to Sandown Airport this weekend. This weekend event, organised by the Islands ‘Shed’ members, will be open from 10:00 to 16:00 on both the Saturday 15th and 16th of June. There will be interest for all the family with a variety of stalls and activities as well as refreshments and live music. A beer festival will also be held at the event on both days which will be open longer on Saturday evening. Entry for the public will be free with plenty of onsite parking. Sunday 16th June (Father’s Day) is an ideal opportunity for Dad and Grandad to come along and meet the local ’Men in Sheds’ members and find out what they do. There will be representatives from 6 local Sheds together with a further 4 from the mainland as well as volunteers from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, the Bus Museum, Sandown and Shanklin Rotary and many more. Sandown Airport is the site of the Sandown Aviation Museum and Sandown Shed. The ‘Shedfest’ event has been sponsored by the Royal British Legion, with donations from Wight Aid and the Wight Aviation Museum.
