Shaun Mallon and Julie Miller were the winners at Shanklin & Sandown’s Golf Club ‘Rolling Pin’ competition.
The ‘Rolling Pin’ is played for annually by members of Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club in a Mixed Greensomes stableford competition.
Taking place on 26th May, the competition was, as usual, hard fought.
Winning, with 41 points, were Shaun Mallon and Julie Miller. Runners-up were the husband-and-wife team of Bob and Jane Wilson with 40 points.
FRAN COLE AND SARAH NYE TAKE McCLELLAND TROPHY
The McClelland Trophies were donated in 2018 by Margaret McClelland, Shanklin and Sandown’s longest serving member.
This fun 9-hole greensomes stableford competition is played twice a year and, as in previous years, Margaret was on hand to present her trophies.
This year, on 22nd May, the honour was taken by Fran Cole and Sarah Nye with 23 points. Runners up, with 20 points, were Geraldine Parmenter and Angela Lassey.
Bev Lowry was nearest the pin on the 5th, and the longest drive on the 8th belonged to Sarah Nye.
