Shanklin Under 11s have returned to the Isle of Wight as champions after an outstanding performance at the Beach Fest tournament in Bournemouth.
The young side kicked off the day with 5 group stage wins, netting an impressive 20 goals without reply. In the quarter-finals, Shanklin continued their dominant form with a 2-0 victory before being tested in the semi-finals. Despite going 1-0 down against a well-organised opponent, the team fought back to win 2-1, showing real determination and resilience.
The final saw Shanklin face a strong Bournemouth side. After a tense 0-0 draw, the match went to penalties. Goalkeeper Noah pulled off three crucial saves, setting up Lyle to step forward and slot home the winning penalty.

This win follows Shanklin U11s’ success at the Isle of Wight Beach Festival earlier in the summer, making it a memorable season on the sand for the team.
