Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club clubhouse was bedecked in flags, and members wore their finest red, white and blue, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on 3rd June.

The Club used the occasion to say “thank you” to its members for their forbearance during the Covid-19 crisis by inviting them to play in a Texas Scramble. 208 members took to the course, and many more attended the club during the day to eat, drink, and enjoy the music.

The winning team were Paul Cock, Peter Broome, Nigel Bishop, and Simon Bligh.  Runners up were Ray Winter, Dorian Cobb, Tom Roberts, and Luke Hatch.  In 3rd place came Neil Janes, Bea Janes, Terry Harris and Penny Last.  All 3 teams came in on 51.0, and placings were decided on countback.

A raffle was held in aid of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, which raised £646.
